Services

Residential Projects

  • We work closely with our clients to create versatile spaces that foster connection with the natural world. From small courtyards to large rural properties, we are dedicated to curating beautiful and functional landscapes that include diverse plant life and prioritise the use of sustainable materials.

Commercial Projects

  • We partner with affiliate design consultants and public or private clients to deliver considered landscapes across mixed-use, health, education, public realm, and multi-residential projects — drawing on experience that ranges from compact townhouses and courtyard restaurants to expansive retreats and destination-scale developments.

Residential Projects Types

  • Plant Curation

For those who already enjoy their outdoor space but are looking to refresh it, we offer curated Plant Boards tailored to your garden’s unique conditions and character.

  • Small-Scale Residential

Small-scale residential projects typically involve properties up to 250m² and can range from simple layouts to highly detailed, design-rich spaces.

  • Standard Residential

Medium-sized residential spaces involve properties between 250–1000m², ranging from straightforward gardens to more complex designs with detailed landscape elements.

  • Acreage and Rural

Large-scale properties, typically over 1000m² .These projects are often delivered in stages and divided into key zones. Each part of the landscape is considered in relation to the whole, balancing site functionality, visual cohesion, and long-term maintenance.

SolSeascapes Process

The design process begins by visiting your site and talking through your project. From these conversations we put together a design brief and outline the stages of the design, including a fee proposal. Once you are happy with this we start the concept design.

We are able to manage the project for you or if you are looking to develop your garden in stages over time we can support you as little or as much as needed.

Deliverables

Plant Curation

The curated plant board serves as a visual guide and source of inspiration for your garden. It functions as a mood board, featuring a curated selection of specified plants, complete with images and size descriptions for each species according to their designated areas within the landscape.

  • Detailed Design – A Planting Plan based on your curated plant board, locating plant species, location and size.

  • Plant Procurement.

    Supply and installation of plants.

Concept Plan

The concept plan sets the foundation for your project, bringing together site conditions, your brief, and design vision. At this stage, we translate ideas into clear drawings, palettes, and imagery so you can see how the landscape will take shape.

    • Existing Plan: Base plan showing site structures, topography, and significant landscape features.

    • Site Analysis: Assessment of conditions like soils, drainage, sun, and wind to inform design.

    • Design Intent – Precedent Imagery & Vision: Reference visuals that capture style, materials, and spatial qualities.

    • Plan View: Initial layout of the site, showing key spaces and elements.

    • Plant Palette: A curated list of species to guide style, colour, and function.

    • Hardscape Palette: Proposed finishes and materials such as paving, decking, and edging.

  • 3D modelling.

Step II: Detailed Design

Once the concept is refined and any amendments confirmed, we prepare a full set of detailed plans. These drawings and specifications guide contractors through the build with precision, covering both hardscape and planting elements.

    • Surface Treatment Plan:

    • Area calculations (sqm & lm) for paving, pathways, and edging.

    • Structured material and finish selections for efficient procurement.

    • Planting Plan:

    • A detailed layout specifying botanical and common names, quantities, and exact plant placements to ensure

      clarity in implementation.

    • Dimensioned Plan: A scaled technical drawing with all necessary measurements for accurate construction.

    • Specifications: Clear documentation of materials, finishes, to guide tender and build.

    • Lighting Plan: A strategic lighting layout to enhance ambiance, safety, and usability. Includes placement of pathway lights,

feature uplighting, and functional lighting for key outdoor areas.

    • Construction Details: From stonework to joinery, our construction documentation packages include precise, build-ready details for all custom features. These drawings ensure clarity on site, smooth coordination with contractors, and a result that stays true to the original design vision..

    • Plant Procurement & Installation: Sourcing and installation of high-quality plant stock from trusted suppliers, ensuring best-practice planting methods for strong establishment and long-term growth.
